We’re Evan and Carolina. We both worked as scientists in the pharmaceutical industry, and always dreamed of running our own business. We ordered our sawmill in 2022 and opened Twin Oak Sawmill in 2023.

Our mission hasn’t changed: to turn logs that would otherwise become firewood or rot into beautiful, useful lumber. We started as a mobile sawmill, bringing the mill to customers across the Kansas City metro. Today we work from a permanent yard in Independence, as proud partners with L&K Hardwoods. With a yard and a kiln, we can produce dried lumber, timbers and slabs year-round, and mill the logs our customers bring in. For custom woodworking and furniture, we refer customers to L&K Hardwoods, who handle custom builds at the yard.
